Well, we made it!!! After a ten-hour flight from Chicago, IL, we landed onto German soil in Frankfurt. After arriving and having to wait a while for our luggage so we could go through customs, we went and rented our car, a Peugot 470 SW, from Hertz and made our way to Heidelberg. It was great to get out to stretch our legs and walk about the town. The old part of town had somewhat of a touristy vibe, with lots of shoppers and sightseers. While on our tour of Heidelberg, we visited the local castle. The castle there is a very massive castle, that has suffered many wounds from battle. Even with its battle wounds, the castle grounds were very beautiful. After walking down from the castle, we ate dinner, and headed back to our hotel to sleep. Since none of us had not slept much on the plane, we were all ready for a good night’s sleep!
